Mr. Lau

Mr. Lau is the latest addition to our school community and physical education program. He is an individual who is in constant pursuit of becoming the strongest version of himself. With this mental fortitude, he aims to help our little ones grow to become the best versions of themselves. Mr. Lau is a competitive power lifter and has a background in fitness. His heaviest lift to date is a 365lb bench press, 495lb squat, and a 525lb deadlift! He is a graduate of Queens College Physical Education program. He is also a part of NYC Men Teach which is a partnership between the Office of the Mayor, the New York City Department of Education and CUNY which aims to improve the diversity of the NYC teaching workforce. As part of this program Mr. Lau aims to improve our student's overall physical literacy. Physical literacy is the ability to move with competence and confidence in a wide variety of physical activities in multiple environments that benefit the healthy development of the whole person.

Ryan O'Kelly

Mr. O’Kelly is a former collegiate athlete who played baseball for four years at LIU Post. He believes that children can learn and develop important life skills through athletics. Being a member of a team or group can inspire students to develop socialization skills which can help them in the gym, classroom and in their communities. Athletics also helps children take on leadership roles. Mr. O’Kelly encourages his students to actively participate and enjoy gym class.
