About Mr. Lau

Mr. Lau joined our school community and physical education program September 2017. He is an individual who is in constant pursuit of becoming the strongest version of himself. With this mental fortitude, he aims to help our little ones grow to become the best versions of themselves. Mr. Lau is a recreational power lifter and has a background in fitness. His heaviest lift to date is a 365lb bench press, 495lb squat, and a 525lb deadlift! He is a graduate of Queens College Physical Education program. He is also a part of NYC Men Teach which is a partnership between the Office of the Mayor, the New York City Department of Education and CUNY which aims to improve the diversity of the NYC teaching workforce. In addition to NYC Men Teach, Mr.Lau also serves as a Physical Education Teacher working closely with the NYC Office of School Wellness. As part of this program Mr. Lau aims to improve our student's overall Physical and Health literacy. Physical literacy is the ability to move with competence and confidence in a wide variety of physical activities in multiple environments that benefit the healthy development of the whole person.
