Brooke Robinson

Brooke Robinson is a recent graduate of Queens College where she received a dual Bachelors degree in Sociology and Elementary Education. While working towards her degrees, Brooke had the opportunity to student teach in two different New York City schools in both a third and sixth grade classroom. She did her sixth grade student teaching in our very own neighborhood at IS 227 right down the block. Brooke became part of the East Elmhurst Community School family last Spring, when she spent the last two months of our school year teaching in Kindergarten. Brooke was the monolingual ICT kindergarten teacher with her very own class for a few years. Her class has inspired her to further her education and begin a dual masters program in Special Education and English as a Second Language, which she will be starting in the very near future. Brooke strongly believes that the best teachers show you where to look, but do not tell you what to see. She see's the importance in hands on discovery in the classroom to help our students become the very best independent learners that they can be. Having a fun, exciting, safe, and supportive classroom is incredibly important to Brooke, as she uses humour and love to connect with her students. As she begins her first full year as a First Grade teacher, Brooke could not be more excited to be working with such amazing teachers, professionals, parents, and students.

Degrees and Certifications:

Jessica Sibucao

I received my B.A. major in Early Childhood Education from University of Santo Tomas, Philippines and my M.S.Ed in General and Special Education in Early Childhood from Touro College.

I taught as a K-6 general education teacher in Philippines for two years and as a Universal Pre-Kindergarten teacher in Richmond Hill, Queens for four years.

I strongly believe in the importance of teacher encouragement and motivation for students. I aim to encourage students while teaching them to be intrinsically motivated by offering challenging yet fun and supportive lessons and activities. Having a safe, fun and supportive class is important for me that is why I believe in using preventive and supportive behavior strategies more than corrective. I achieve this through providing engaging lessons and by establishing clear expectations.
